Spread a little love with xocial™…the thank you app

Thank you.

Those two little words have the power to make a big difference—in your life and the lives of others. And that’s the reason we created xocial. We want you to download the app, upload your gratitude and change life for the better.
Let’s face it: we live in a time when Kim Kardashian’s butt and Renée Zellweger’s face can break the Internet, and online bullies have 24-hour access to kids who sleep with their smart phones under their pillows.

It’s time to join #thanksnation and make the world suck a little less.

Gratitude has benefits

Just like the video above says, one of the greatest contributors to our overall happiness is how much gratitude we show. Researchers in the positive psychology movement have shown that an attitude of gratitude makes us feel better, behave better and sleep better. Grateful people make more friends. Make more money. Earn higher marks. Have higher self-esteem. Exercise more. Act nicely even when others are unkind. And don’t crave stuff to make them happy.

The benefits, of course, are felt by those who are the recipients of gratitude, too. People who have been thanked feel valued. They’re motivated to try harder. And they’ll do that nice thing again—often for someone new.

If you’re thankful and you know it tell someone

William Arthur Ward, who penned many Reader’s Digest inspira-quotes in his day, once said that feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

Well, Will, we’re with you on that one.

Some people express their gratitude privately, using a notebook or a gratitude app such as Thankaday, Gratitude Journal 365 or Gratitude. That’s a great way to capture feelings about warm summer rain. A snuggle with your dog. Or chocolate.

But we think gratitude becomes even more powerful when you share it with others—particularly the people whose influence or actions you’re grateful for. The exchange between the person who noticed or experienced the good deed and the person who did it creates a flood of good feeling. It deepens relationships. And it inspires more good in the future.

Numbers motivate us

We value what we can put numbers to. That’s why xocial has the XO score™—a unique algorithm that calculates your social impact on a scale from 0 to 100. We like to call it your hug and kiss score. Your XO score is what makes it possible to set goals, see change, stay motivated, inspire others and create the kind of healthy competition that raises the bar for everyone.

So how grateful are you now? Take the Gratitude Questionnaire (GQ-6) and find out. Then download xocial (App Store or Google Play) and measure the impact gratitude is having on you and others!
